Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate Cake

Hot Chocolate Cake is the ultimate way to turn a cup of Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate into something bake-worthy. Rich, soft and deeply chocolatey, this cake delivers café-style indulgence with minimal effort.

This hot chocolate cake recipe uses Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate powder to create a rich, moist chocolate cake perfect for Easter baking or afternoon treats.


YOU WILL NEED:

Chocolate Cake:

  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature

  • 150 g brown sugar

  • 120 g unsalted butter, melted and cooled

  • 180 ml milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 120 g Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate

  • 130 g plain flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Chocolate Glaze:

  • 80 g icing sugar

  • 2 tbsp Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

To decorate (optional):
  • Pastel mini chocolate eggs

  • Extra Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate for dusting

METHOD:

Chocolate Cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C. Grease a 20 cm loaf tin with butter and line with baking paper.

  2. In a large bowl whisk together the eggs and brown sugar until smooth and slightly pale.

  3. Add the melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl combine the Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir well to remove any lumps.

  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently fold together with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin. The batter will be smooth and pourable.

  7. Place into the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, until the cake is springy to the touch and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

  8. Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool in the tin for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Chocolate Glaze:

  • Place the icing sugar and Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate in a bowl.

  • Add milk gradually and stir until you achieve a smooth, pourable glaze.

  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.

Decorating:

  1. Cut the cake into thick square pieces if desired.

  2. Top with pastel chocolate eggs and lightly dust with Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate.

  3. Serve with a warm cup of Nomad Classic Hot Chocolate.
